TehAmelie: the symbiote knows pretty much everything Peter has ever known at the time of their separation. lucky for him it doesn't exactly tell its host straight
pyrehand: @TehAmelie The game doesn't use random hit chance, all abilities are guaranteed to land and damage values are fixed. There is a crit chance mechanic on card draw. I'm not sure what algorithm they use for random numbers on that.

TheMerricat: So chat, I've only been following the game for Cori's commentary and chat. I haven't paid that much attention to the game play, is this one of those games where leveling up makes you 'more powerful' so that you take out more mooks in one blow/take them out faster. Or is this one of those games where they scale the level of the mooks so that you essentially are treading water and thus your level up just means you get bigger mooks?

pyrehand: @TheMerricat bit of column a bit of column b. The mooks don't scale naturally but leveling does unlock higher difficulties where the mooks are beefier but you level even faster.
TehAmelie: the XCom tradition is having the enemies get more powerful over time and daring you to keep up, but who knows with this
pyrehand: There are much harder enemies in later levels but that's tied to story progress not strictly level.
TXC2: yeah, Cori hasn't exactly been grinding this game, so we're not as powerful as we could be, but cori's doing fine
