Mr_Horrible: @azidbern95 thankfully we're probably faster than a 6 turn clock
whoppernugget: uh oh
Marvoleath: they could have gate ramp though
Caffine1138:
hydrate or die
Anubis169: gotta go return a coffee?
GapFiller: tbf G the human body IS mostly water
TehAmelie: your cells can only absorb i think about 50 cc of water per 15 minutes, and then you gotta pee eventually
accountmadeforants: Brekkie, my beloved
Mr_Horrible: I mean, that still leaves a Stupid Big with reach
MarkovDescendant: Correct
Krasis404: ye
GredGredmansson: till THEIR next turn yeah
accountmadeforants: The regular reminder text starts with "Until your next turn", yeah. Not sure why Arena is wording it this way.
Mr_Horrible: !card boundary lands
LRRbot: Boundary Lands Ranger [1R] | Creature — Human Ranger [2/2] | At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you control a creature with power 4 or greater, you may discard a card. If you do, draw a card.
Krasis404: That's a face I haven't seen in awhile
Mr_Horrible: well, we don't need to attack with the ranger, so it's fine to play on the next turn
Mr_Horrible: and still get to rummage
BrowneePointz: it's cuz it's bando in commando
BrowneePointz: and has beendo for a while...do
Toasty_1_2:
Which that thing wasn`t banned in commander
Mr_Horrible: it's been banned for... at least a decade, p sure?
Toasty_1_2: *Wish
Mr_Horrible: which is weird to think about
Caffine1138: the audacity of Audacity
BrowneePointz: nope just that one
BrowneePointz: cuz it's stupid
PhuzNutz: So plebs can't play in this event?
Krasis404: Nah, it's just Sylvan for some reason
whoppernugget: Just the green one actually
GredGredmansson: better
BrowneePointz: Yall, if you never had to play commander when Sylvan was legal you do not understand
Marvoleath: @PhuzNutz This is early access, release is on Dec 10th
MarkovDescendant: Asp while they can't monstrosity?
Mr_Horrible:
the logic is, if you want to ruin someone's mana with blinks, you have to at least give them 3/3 elephants
CrossXhunteR: oh, it's fireshoes
Marvoleath: detained, still can punch
SnowBuddy18: punch angler with reckoner and use the trigger to hit asp?
GredGredmansson: its a fight, so we do want to do it on the asp
accountmadeforants: It's just Sylvan that's banned, I'm pretty sure
Mr_Horrible: 2-for-2, not bad
GredGredmansson: its not a bite
gualdhar: Graham, how did you get the Lexan table into the building?
MarkovDescendant: Big burly boy
Mr_Horrible:
funny way of putting it
josh___something: Several adams?!
gualdhar: ah yes, Adam, official strong buy of LoadingReadyRun
ghyllnox:
"Most of them Adam"
grometty: how many Adams do you have in storage
CrossXhunteR: i always knew that adam fellow was good at picking things up and putting them back down
GredGredmansson: oh THAT'S what that is
Frostwriter111: do you have more Adams or James on hand?
GapFiller: grometty turns out Paul isnt just cloning himself these days
accountmadeforants: That's real impressive, even for a burly lad like Adam.
KeytarCat: replaying FF7 and thinking of you, G!
Mr_Horrible: Selayoffit Charm
GredGredmansson: speaking of dang
josh___something: Hey wait
Technic_AL: RUDE
Krasis404: Yikes
Caffine1138: damnit Jace!

Dog_of_Myth: Ooof
Mr_Horrible: this is what is classically defined as "a problem"
GredGredmansson: THERE'S the Audacity
northos: I forgot how silly this Jace was in limited lol
josh___something:
We can't even throw a boulder at him
Toasty_1_2: Mill ten with 40 card decks just hits different
accountmadeforants: Ah, anime boy-lookin Jace, how I haven't missed you
Marvoleath: Jace shows up, throws your deck through the window, refuses to elaborate
GredGredmansson: jump up jump up and get down
Decaped: Jeeze, 3 turn unblockable clock?
josh___something: Man, fuck Jace
GapFiller: welp
northos:
hey, we get to see the mill death animation at least
DoomBringerIL: that "0" ability is BROKENNN @LoadingReadyRun
pn55: Cool game
Caffine1138: early planeswalkers had ISSUES
CrossXhunteR: bye G
azidbern95: looking forward to playing this set on Tuesday!
TheWriterAleph: thank for strem
Mr_Horrible: hopefully he continues to be Graham
Strebenherz: thank you for mtgs
definenull: Man that deck should have done way better than it did imo

Professor_Colin:
CrossXhunteR: i should get real, non-plastic sushi sometimes soon. haven't had any in a few years now
SymphonySolstice: I never had sushi before actually
Caffine1138: what about edible plastic sushi? (yes you made me curious about it. and yes i'm both surprised and not that it exists)
iris_of_ether:
I had (grocery store) sushi for lunch, actually
Caffine1138: grocery store sushi gets a bad wrap. If its fresh its (probably) just as fine as any other food made right there in the store
LadyAiluros: Kittym plz, no bite mom when she is working on CAD models
iris_of_ether: I figure it's hard to mess up salmon nigiri, anyway
Mai_Andra:
Kittym no bite? jail for mom 1000 years
SymphonySolstice: @LadyAiluros Cat-Aided Design, clearly
LadyAiluros: Yes
azureHaights: @caffine1138 if the grocery store sushi had a bad wrap, that's it's own problem
Juliamon: I've had both decent grocery store sushi and REALLY BAD grocery store sushi
SymphonySolstice: good evening Ian
Strebenherz: Festive greetings!
Aneximarius: gas station sushi is the real gamble
Juliamon: some stores are not good at date-checking
TehAmelie: greetings
Aneximarius: it is live after all

DoodlestheGreat: Yay, Sushi!
ANeMzero: keep talking and no one fishsplodes

Jorsh029: Some green-dyed milliput would be perfect for that, lol
SymphonySolstice: the band?
Caffine1138: Not wrong
ANeMzero: this cement has job security
Balatare: More things should be marked so clearly and unambiguously
TehAmelie: i'm always jealous of these huge sushi pieces other countries seem to have
Caffine1138: I kinda want brush applicable fire now
Aneximarius: Once I learned rubber cement is a professional stunt team's best friend those warnings all made much more sense
epsilon_vee: it's rizzlin' time
Mazrae: Don't eat this forbidden rice
SymphonySolstice: like how they use scissors to cut meat in some places, except it's god hands
Caffine1138: 3d printed food is a thing, so an edible version of this is possible
Aneximarius: oh what's tonights beverage choice?
epsilon_vee:
the dielectric of the sushi
TehAmelie: imagine the patience of people who do this with real rice
iris_of_ether: Note: none of these have actual gluten
iris_of_ether:
Signed, a celiac
shurtal: a square is a rice but a rice is not necessary a rectangle
Laurence72: Is this like a sandwich or hot dog kind of thing?
Balatare: Every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square. I think...
TehAmelie: did you know rice makes up 70% of all human food?
BrowneePointz: squares and rectangles ye. Gyoza evolved out of Potstickers but have differences
Toaster_Strooder: @Balatare Yes. Or, how I like to put it, a square is a kind of rectangle. I personally think that's a little less confusing.
Aneximarius: This is such a modern take on kintsugi
TehAmelie: ha, imagine doing this with gold glue
LadyAiluros: dissolved?
LadyAiluros: solsuble?
Balatare: Uncured adhesive, otherwise known as 'sick glue'
LadyAiluros: I was thinking of bondene and ABS
Toaster_Strooder: @Balatare Infected Bonding Agent
quatoria: i love watching ian dip a brush into a jar labeled "POISON" before carefully assembling sushi, one grain of rice at a time
Aneximarius: since the rice is mostly vehicle here I'd say as long as it feels good in the hand
quatoria: excellent visual dichotomy
ANeMzero: long loooong fish
Balatare: @Toaster_Strooder Ha!
BrowneePointz: Spam Musubi says otherwise
Aquanoss: dang, out of all the channels, I wouldn't expect to get a gifted sub for this one
accountmadeforants: @quatoria With the right camera angles, music, and colour pass, Ian could look like an incredibly meticulous assassin.
Aneximarius: oh I love the angry ones
Marvoleath: Did you count the rice grains to confirm they are all there? Would hate to see you miss one and only realize it at the end of the project
BigDaddyBland87: Lonely Island's recent song has ruined sushi for me for a while
Aneximarius: a forced respect for the craft
TehAmelie: i get a feeling they pack in some spare rice grains
Toaster_Strooder: @accountmadeforants Anyone can look like an incredibly meticulous assassin with the right camera angles, music, & colour pass, i think.
shurtal: moving away from PEAK ESSENCE
TheDevil_Risen:
I like the sound of aggressive chef in the style of Angry Zen Master
TehAmelie: just picture the intro to Dexter, but all the food he makes is labeled "poison"

TheDevil_Risen: WHY IS YOUR HEAD NOT EMPTY!?
Laurence72: @TheDevil_Risen EMPTY YOUR PLATE!!
TheDevil_Risen:
BigDaddyBland87: WHY IS YOUR PLATE STILL FULL OF THINGS?!?! (things I tell my children daily)

SymphonySolstice: I did that to an anime plushie once
ghyllnox: Wait, you can no longer purchase blahaj?
SquareDotCube: meanwhile the mantle clock from 1997 can still be bought...
Balatare: Two Blahajs now how to keep a secret if one of them has been bifurcated with a seam ripper
iris_of_ether: @ArdCollider Oh! You found Preserved Nuggie Etsy
iris_of_ether: I think several of us were joking about gifting one to Ben years ago...
ArdCollider: yeah, I was like "someone is eventually going to get Ulmer with this" to wedge immediately
TehAmelie: a blåhaj the size of a blåval!
Aneximarius: Inkscape was so much better than I expected
accountmadeforants: I can still buy Blahajs in my country, I don't think it's ever been out of stock. I guess NA just isn't dedicated enough to the Haj
BrowneePointz: Wide-haj

Aneximarius: the Furbie synth
Nigouki: long furby subreddit is magical

wedge_x: King Blahjora
accountmadeforants: Blahaj but a face on both ends, like catdog. Hajhaj
Balatare: @wedge_x This. 100% this.
ArdCollider: the blahaj at my house is named after the Congressional aide who got to call me and listen to me give them shit about trans bathroom access in the Capitol.
nyoomgoom: also i ordered blåhaj and small blåhaj from ikea mere days ago. they're still available in the u.s. for the time being, first i'm hearing of the discontinue

Alex_Frostfire: "Yeah it turns out pyramids are just pretty stable."
Strebenherz: swords were made independently in a lot of different areas
Caffine1138: Pile of Rocks and Math doesn't change
accountmadeforants: There was also that one short about the step wells in India. And it's just "you couldn't build these without incredibly complex mathematics" - "good thing they knew incredibly complex mathematics back then"
TehAmelie: there's probably remains of other ancient empires that have been lost cause they weren't pyramid shaped
pennyfortheguy: Found him on TikTok and then followed him on Youtube. Archeology consirapacy spikes my blood pressure
SquareDotCube: I mean, how the Bent Pyramid came to be is because the Egyptians understood stability but not enough about weight distribution
BrowneePointz: Archaeology is just People-Paleontology
Strebenherz: surely people needed ancient aliens to navigate the seas, no way they could have done the incredibly complex mathematics to navigate the seas or something

NotCainNorAbel: oh, I thought it was going to AI related
Laurence72: They should have gone with MEATS
TehAmelie: think of all the power plants using steam too
TheAwkes: Oh no, we engaged with chat and now Twitch wants us to make clips with their annoying new popup alert!
adept_nekomancer: Or you could add "research" and have STREAM.
empyreon:
as a gamer that works in healthcare, I get that with Epic
TehAmelie: i think we just have to accept steam is diffuse
LadyAiluros: nuuuuu

Joecool190: its not really thinking
Strebenherz: Clippy's evolved form
mercano82: you can add “do not lie” to your prompts. it doesn’t always help.
couchboyj: Its also fairly easy to convince it that it was wrong when its right about simple things
NotCainNorAbel: @empyreon I just hope that Epic Games gets as many calls for MyChart as Epic gets for Fortnight
LadyAiluros: I busted 2 students just today turning in AI generated work
niccus: oh right that big news breaking out, the guy chatgpt can't mention
Sarah_Serinde: all of this implies that it knows what it's saying in the first place
NotCainNorAbel: Knowing a bunch of teachers: they are going back to oral exams
empyreon: @NotCainNorAbel BAHAHAA
jessieimproved: AI detectors pick up neurodivergent writing a lot
Pheonix888: That sounds like when they asked Babage if his machine would give the right answer to wrong inputs.
LadyAiluros:
this wasn't a false positive; this was the third time I'd read this same general essay
empyreon: @NotCainNorAbel "Flossing? Oh, you want Wisdom"
TehAmelie: i liked this essay comparing using chatgpt for writing to using a forklift to lift weights. only wish there was a wider understanding of this among the users
couchboyj: I teach intro programming. Best trick I have found so far is to give em problems that the AI will want to use things we haven't covered yet in the solution.
Sarah_Serinde:
At my work they are now telling the AI to produce an output that is "not detectable as being AI-generated" and just...
Caffine1138: thats just a fancy thesaurus
accountmadeforants: @couchboyj I mean, that'll also catch kids who know how to Google things, or read ahead.
SquareDotCube: The AI has learned to tautology
LadyAiluros:
In my case, I generally know that these students don't have the vocabulary the LLM is using
NotCainNorAbel: @empyreon Appointments, no you can going a queue anytime
Laurence72:
Look, it can be silly, but I always try to be friendly to AI, because you never know when they'll succeed and take us over.
couchboyj: @accountmadeforants Its trickier to write the assignments but it works great
SymphonySolstice: the real trick is to increase the font size of your punctuation
TheAwkes: That's where the consumer ad dollars are.
LordZarano: The card recognizer uses machine learning, right?
Mai_Andra: These AI models already took over decades ago. They came from Business school.
accountmadeforants: They can take a page from the people who have been trying to sling chatbots and automated phone bots for the past few decades.
accountmadeforants: *phone trees
niccus: david mayer...
Alex_Frostfire: I make the claim that there are two good uses of AI, which humans are historically bad at: classification and optimization.
Alex_Frostfire: GenAI can go get lost though.
adept_nekomancer: "Write me a bedtime song about whether there is an oil well here"
jessieimproved: I think the biggest issue is we're calling all these different things "AI" and none of it is truly intelligent
ArdCollider: I hate when people are like "we could use [LLMs] AI for medical advances!" and I'm like "do you! want to see! the summary report from a whole exome scan I had! we did that without generative AI!"
LostThePirate: I'm hopeful for the ways in which AI could benefit the field of medicine, while also being quite fearful of it being a bias-confirmation system.
ArdCollider: (60GB of single-letter DNA stuff: much easier with bioinformatics.)
TehAmelie: we could classify AIs by how much power they use to do things
couchboyj: AI has meant "What we can't make computers do well yet" for at least 50 years
ForOhForError: fwiw I work with speech recognition folks and that stuff is getting *good*
TehAmelie: cause i think the problematic AIs are the ones using datacenters that are altering the Earth's spin with how much they change groundwater levels for their cooling
accountmadeforants: I propose we dedicate all LLM compute resources to Folding@home, I suspect we'll have useful output far more quickly
Cptasparagus: dont do X or muskie will sue you
onecelt: “Which of these programming style stimulates my brain the most?”
onecelt: That’s what both interests me in programming and prevents me from finishing projects
goombalax: Is this the one you had started previously?
SquareDotCube: I feel like the bottleneck we've hit is that we've scraped through the bottom of the 8086 architecture in capabilities, it's going to be a painful swap to a newer better architecture for PCs
couchboyj: Might not be possible to parallelize, so you can't use all your cores?
ArdCollider: if it's any consolation, there are VFX tasks where you sometimes have to go back to the artist like "please fill these buckets more efficiently, you're not using the cores as hard as we need you to to hit deadlines."
onecelt: It frustrates me when OSs don’t even report their usage of resources. Windows Updates were killer for me.
LadyAiluros: yes esp since someone reverse engineered the SSD module on the Studio
accountmadeforants: Yup, I wrote a tool to trawl a filesystem for metadata (as an upgrade to a little script which had become non-viable long ago). And yeah, I could easily make use of every thread and peg the CPU if I wanted to, but the real bottleneck was access times. (And that's at just about every scale, even big racks of SSDs with a fiber backplane)
TehAmelie: i don't know exactly what pegging means in this context but imma assume the funny thing
TheAwkes: CRYSiS (2007)
MWGNZ: turns out we're at the point where little things like the speed of light come in to play
TehAmelie: really in 2007 i figured by now we'd have cheap low energy quantum computers with infinite processing power
Mazrae: M-m-m-multicore
Juliamon: Instead, now everyone just wants to see how primitive we can go for something to run Doom
accountmadeforants: @SquareDotCube x86 doesn't really exist in a meaningful sense. The actual implementation is mostly RISC with a fancy pipeline and a bunch of microcode.
accountmadeforants: *x86 as a hardware architecture
TheAwkes: Slack line?
TehAmelie: that's why i think they peaked when they got Doom to run in Doom. nothing disingenuous there
TheDevil_Risen: Can MTG run Doom: Theoretically, Yes
niccus: spacex *is* trying to work towards martian mining, so...
accountmadeforants: Doom on Spinda patterns is also a lot of fun
TehAmelie: they just got Doom to crash enough to accept arbitrary code input, and programmed Doom in it
TheDevil_Risen: Practically : No
BigDaddyBland87: There's not enough time in the day to reflect on all my choices
KeytarCat: You can run doom on human

TehAmelie: well, you could paint your own brown rice so of course you could make it. more wondering if you could buy it
Mathwyn: Great way to kill someone via choking hazard!
TehAmelie: if you tell them there is a dud in there somewhere it's probably very easy to find it when you touch it
TheDevil_Risen: ooo glass nail file!
ghyllnox: Sushi colon sounds like a particularly unpleasant digestive disorder
Cptasparagus: I have a fancy one that was probably overpriced and its my favorite gunpla tool
TehAmelie: won't it generate some very fine glass dust too?
Cptasparagus: @TehAmelie no, glass is way higher on the Mohs scale
confracto: I've enjoyed the results of glass files on model kits. I don't enjoy the results of plastic dust in the vicinity.
CrossXhunteR: are those godhand nippers?
LostThePirate: Yeah, Dollar Tree went up to $1.25 here
Sethalidos: I have never seen anything in a dollar store cost a dollar
SymphonySolstice: yeah I call it the American Dollar Tree
TehAmelie: dollar stores here already round up by making everything 10 kronor, but they also don't care at all about an upper price limit, everything's just multiples of 10
CrossXhunteR: good ol Mr Cement
CrossXhunteR: articulation for the tail, i guess
Juliamon: nuln noil
Lysander_salamander: hello everyone!
Lysander_salamander: oh, nice
Cptasparagus:

CrossXhunteR: get it with some matte top coat
CrossXhunteR: is there plastic modeled wasabi under the fish?
inetro: Don't ya put it in your mouth
TehAmelie: plain rice, Raymond Holt's favorite food
TheDevil_Risen: Angry Sushi Chef Skit When?

ghyllnox: Thanks for the stream o/
TheAinMAP: Thank you for streaming.
TheDevil_Risen: *dredge
LoadingReadyRun: TBH I haven't played dredge, but I've seen it highly recommended.
LoadingReadyRun:
I also enjoyed the Dredge tie in with Dave the Diver
Juliamon: You can always check out the bonus ep Ben did of it if you want to get an idea of it.
Juliamon: either way, it's free
ghyllnox: I'd give Dredge a solid 4/5. It's got good mechanics and lore, the art is great, and the character story is good. My one complaint is that the gameplay area isn't integrated into the world and the different areas feel disjointed from each other, which ended up making it feel like it was artificially stretched out, narratively
