Cptasparagus: I actually do a very similar process to this when mounting tissue sections to microscope slides, after theyre embedded in paraffin wax you slice them extremely thin and then float them on top of warm water, which softens the wax and you dip the slides under and scoop them onto the glass. I haven't tried a dipping method with gunpla but thats how they do a lot of wraps for helmets and stuff.
