hexy_lexy: hey nerds! reminder that yall are beautiful and valuable and loved beyond measure!
TheMerricat: The most important thing to remember @AmberLampLight is that Beej is a contentious adventurer. He practices catch and release on all armors and weapons he finds :P
Arclight_Dynamo: lrrSIGNAL lrrSIGNAL lrrSIGNAL
ContingentCat: lrrSIGNAL
JadedCynic: WHEW! Thought I'd be late AGAIN :D
JadedCynic: there's the thunder
Juliamon: Windows noises! Lightning strikes!
dkosa: krondor noises
djalternative: we're probably finishing chapter 2 tonight
djalternative: woot!
AmberLampLight: @TheMerricat does he sometimes find that the armor and weapons he releases return to him multi-fold
Arclight_Dynamo: We are literally ten in-game steps from finishing chapter 2. If we don't finish it tonight, something is very wrong. :D
hexy_lexy: huzzah! more Beejtrayal!

hexy_lexy: as an owner of a LRR Pride shirt, i can not recommend them enough! super comfy!
Juliamon: !season11
LRRbot: Season 11 DVDs and Blu-Rays are now in processing. If you ordered, please check all your emails for shipping updates. If you ordered and haven't received an email, please contact
AmberLampLight: Also, I've been growing my hair out since 2019 and somehow Beej's is both more and less well-behaved than mine
ritchards: its Beej!
Kramburger: Now I'm new here, are we Krondor or is Krondor the bad guy?
Rhynerd: Krondor is a place
AmberLampLight: We're Krondor the bad guy
blip2004: Krondor is a city, possibly the capital
hexy_lexy: a seal? *arf arf arf*
JadedCynic: that's kinda convenient
plummeting_sloth: Ah, I remember when there was a police strike and the Pipefitters union took over
Hare__Krishna: omg!
Hare__Krishna: this game is such a classic
Kramburger: Okay, my bad. I thought Krondor was a sled
chaostreader: They would be near Silden?
AmberLampLight: Only if this zoom goes through walls
Hare__Krishna: i played the ever-loving heck out of this game once upon a time
Hare__Krishna: love those riddle boxes
JadedCynic: @plummeting_sloth yeah, when EVERY SINGLE cop happened to end up in the ICU all at the same time for an outbreak of food poisoning lrrFRUMP

plummeting_sloth: Thord Motor Company, maker of sneaky shoes
chaostreader: All those weedwalkers temporarily turned into notes.
JadedCynic: (my memory of our conversations are a little hazy, but there was talk that all the guild strife is being manipulated by others; if that's the case, I could see their agents mingling with the various townspeople running around and targeting all the guards to eliminate any stabilizing influence
plummeting_sloth: So, when you don't have party member that can read the language of the wordlock boxes, are the tumblers themselves also in unreadable script, or just the clue? I'm trying to figure out how useful these clues could actually be
Hare__Krishna: there's a spell you can learn to decipher Moredhel
Hare__Krishna: Owyn casts it
Hare__Krishna: Patrus also has it, I think
DarkMorford: Romney? I thought the City of Guilds was called Ravnica...
Hare__Krishna: lol
JadedCynic: so we have a backup if/when Gorath isn't in the party, cool
plummeting_sloth: Romney, the Legally Distinct City of Guilds
AmberLampLight: oh for the days when a game designer needed like 127 different cursor icons
JadedCynic: Romney, the FIRST City of Guilds; WotC can pay a license Kappa
JadedCynic: oops
plummeting_sloth: You have to come back when he's been replaced by the Sargent at Legs
Juliamon: Betrayal at Romney!
JadedCynic: this is gonna be a REALLY tough audience to get barding $$$ from...
Hare__Krishna: how do we have such excellent armor and 3500 gold in chapter III?
hexy_lexy: ANOTHER Betrayal?!?!
Juliamon: Hare__Krishna There's a duping exploit
plummeting_sloth: Betrayal(s) at Krondor
lyropithic: Betrayal II: The Retrayal
JadedCynic: "It not perfect system" ;)
electra310: Think this means we're going to have trouble getting a bed for the night?
Hare__Krishna: Betrayals at Krondor and Elsewhere
AmberLampLight: @electra310 or it's super easy to get a bed for the night
Vector_Zero: !uptime
LRRbot: The stream has been live for 20:39.
JadedCynic: oooo, animation!
electra310: I guess that the vacancy rate has gone up
Vector_Zero: Doh! Was watching vods, didn’t see go live
Hare__Krishna: true. prices for the night should be at an all-time low for the inn
plummeting_sloth: "They spoke of a man named Smith, dammit! We know that's you!"
TheMerricat: wow we actually got animation!
Hare__Krishna: i love Gorath's terrible moustache
JadedCynic: They said the title!
Vector_Zero: Walk without footprints, and you won’t attract the moredhel
hexy_lexy: they said the thing!!!
plummeting_sloth: They left only a Spider, a Spyglass, and some Sassafrass. They were allerative killers
Hare__Krishna: Trope alert: Title Drop
JadedCynic: roll credits
JadedCynic: *ding*
hexy_lexy: ah, yes, the perfect place to exchange my ports! Kappa
plummeting_sloth: are the sell prices as inflated?
Hare__Krishna: prices are nuts here
JadedCynic: prices are determined by the demand, not the supply
JadedCynic: at least here
Juliamon: Free poison!
chaostreader: Free poison!
Hare__Krishna: you can poison things to sell them for higher, iirc
hexy_lexy: oh sweet, free poison!
JadedCynic: makes sense for an item carried by assassins
plummeting_sloth: now lets poison Owyn staff so he doesn't feel left out
electra310: Poison it, then set it on fire, and you're really going to rake in the sovs!
Hare__Krishna: i remember selling thousands of coins worth of fighting gear in this game
plummeting_sloth: Woof
plummeting_sloth: so the sell prices are bumped as well
Hare__Krishna: they'll buy the shell too, i think
electra310: Big city prices!
PixelArtDragon: All the duping is now obsolete by game mechanics
plummeting_sloth: I guess the guild runs a tight ship here, supply wise
chaostreader: Can you poison the staff?
Hare__Krishna: sadly no
JadedCynic: yeah, with the massive amount of money changing hands (due to all the guild trademen present in town) everything gets inflated
Vector_Zero subscribed with Prime. They've subscribed for 32 months!

electra310: Lute drop
plummeting_sloth: lets just sell our clues and retire rich!
JadedCynic: @plummeting_sloth regulated trade; restrict supply to prop up prices, compounded by the current...'blockade'?
PixelArtDragon: By the way, with the impossible trap last stream, it was actually supposed to teach you that the lighting posts block fireballs
Hare__Krishna: yeah, they've made an artificial economy
Nigouki: a lockdown and skyrocketing prices? hmmmm where have I heard that before...
plummeting_sloth: "And let me tell you, the Bonfire Guild has us coming and going"
electra310: Come on, James, dude is dead, be nice
JadedCynic: @electra310 blame the author - James never said anything - it was narrator description
possummtg: Needs more ASMR
plummeting_sloth: are we... strike breakers?
johnalogue: I am here!
Hare__Krishna: we're a lot of things, including strike breakers apparently
JadedCynic: can't imagine WHY anyone around here would be *paranoid*
JadedCynic: it's more like a blockade
TheMerricat: The reward will be a scrap of paper with the answers to three more riddle chests :P
PixelArtDragon: Guilds are more akin to worker co-ops than unions
plummeting_sloth: Well, the town doesn't even have a watch anymore, so quell them with what? The guilds are also the watch now
JadedCynic: yeah, the town guard have all been killed early on (suspicious), and now an armed force of the King's soldiers have been eliminated - any outside force that might quell things and keep the peace is being eliminated
JadedCynic: who wants this chaotic strife going on, and what OTHER activity is not being noticed because of all this distraction?
plummeting_sloth: ooh, are bard prices also inflated?
JadedCynic: guild of farmers objecting with the authorities
chaostreader: Did we look at the spyglass?
JadedCynic: or maybe just the commander of the king's soldiers ordered extra 'beverage' knowing that the inn's stock might not - wait WAT?
Hare__Krishna: he's now an all-timer on the lute
blip2004: He's a rock star
DarkMorford: Way to give 110%!
rabbitgta: at lol% I see
JadedCynic: James is someone who goes the extra mile, obviously Kappa
JadedCynic: @DarkMorford soon, by the sound of it
JadedCynic: oh! does it wear out like other magic items?
Hare__Krishna: nighthawks
TheMerricat: nighthawks are immune to eyes
Hare__Krishna: the spell names are unique in this game
JadedCynic: "hey, dude - friend of yours left some stuff - here, have it back!" *stabs poisoned blade into Nighthawk
PixelArtDragon: Lightning staff?
TheMerricat: nighthawks are also immune to powder
Hare__Krishna: brave sir nighthawk ran away
Hare__Krishna: Invitation will pull him back
JadedCynic: SeemsGood
Hare__Krishna: Owyn pull a Scorpion: get over here!
JadedCynic: :D
Hare__Krishna: 'what we normally do' = raiding the bodies of the dead for sweet profit
chaostreader: @hare__krishna Not quite.
JadedCynic: "They may have been enemies, but the were warriors - they deserve to be buried in as fine an armor as possible"
JadedCynic: (and we end up training our weapon- and armor-smithing skills in the process)
chaostreader: Take the quarrels and make poison quarrels?
TheMerricat: ^^
Hare__Krishna: Arlie
MaladyDark: thats sure is a stereotypical serving wench
chaostreader: Isn’t this where the hidden thing was?
Hare__Krishna: 3 gold for a night, 44 gold for one session on the lute
Hare__Krishna: that's a pretty good living for a bard
Hare__Krishna: except food prices are crazy high, so there's that
MaladyDark: ah the discount cinema approach
JadedCynic: called it
JadedCynic: drugged
Fanklok: what's the deal with morehedel? are they elves like halflings are hobbits?
PixelArtDragon: Mordhel are elves, but they're in general hostile
chaostreader: @fanklok They are like Elves and Dark elves. Similar but not the same.
chaostreader: *as far as I know.
plummeting_sloth: ZOT
djalternative: What's the deal with Mordhel sounds like the start to a Seinfeld bit.
plummeting_sloth: In case of emergency, break staff
johnalogue: I just got back did someone discover guns
plummeting_sloth: brutal
plummeting_sloth: I cast "NOBODY GOES HOME EXCEPT IN A BODY BAG"
TheMerricat: Mordhel were created to be the servants of the ultimate evil in this world, the remnants of the Dragon Lords, who were so powerful as a race that they went to war with the 160 Gods and not almost won (leaving like 16 gods left alive) but didn't die. They were shoved into everyone favorite plothole, an interdimensional prison where their essense was consilidated into one being.
Hare__Krishna: there's a third tribe, the Glamredhel. i forget what their deal is
plummeting_sloth: Huh, for such scary folks these guys gear is kinda trash
TheMerricat: The town we went to that was all destroyed was the result of the last war with them where they were trying to uncover an ancient relic that would release the bad guys from under the town.
plummeting_sloth: he had their pay for the week
johnalogue: @TheMerricat people always put off their fixing problems the second they appear under control. eh?
DarkMorford: "It's fine, we'll deal with it later."
Hare__Krishna: Sethanon?
Fanklok: the symptoms are gone so we can stop taking the medicine
Fanklok: stupid medicine didn't work in still sick
thraximore: Perfect delivery
TheMerricat: OMG
johnalogue: that voice actor
foopoiuyt: Wow
MaladyDark: glad to see you too
plummeting_sloth: geez, I thought I had mice in here for a moment until I remembered I had to turn the furnace back on and it's squeeking through the radiators
rabbitgta: gwad to cu
MaladyDark: now I want that oujo laugh femote romt he disocrd
MaladyDark: lrrCREEPL lrrCREEPR
TimChuma: Is this the one you can do the duplication bug with a hole in the rock?
plummeting_sloth: get crunk on the tarweed
TimChuma: Also put all you skill points into bard whenever you try busking at the inn. The rock thing might be Betrayal at Antara I have not played these games since the 90s

Electrodyne: All we hear is Raidey-o-Gaga
TheMerricat: @LoadingReadyRun btw did you notice what @PixelArtDragon said about that 'impossible' trap from last sesson?
TheMerricat: Lighting rods block fireballs
PixelArtDragon: The lightning blocks the fireballs
ritchards: "here was a trap that seemed impossible but is actually quite simple: that trap was actually supposed to be a very important tutorial: the lightning posts block the fireballs, all you have to do with that one is walk right on through."

TacitusVigil: Move along home Beej, move along home! Kappa
sadryanbutler: beeeej, love the hair man
TacitusVigil: The Shire's reeve? :P
Hare__Krishna: i love that Arlie speaks Yiddish
Hare__Krishna: chutzpah
corefluxx: yes Chutzpah is yiddish
sadryanbutler: ngl, i do miss watching beejlander
djalternative: oh yeah. auction it off. that'd be a great segment
Juliamon: You know how we don't like people commenting on Adam looking tired? It's like that.
dkosa: desert bus is a great idea
hexy_lexy: @sadryanbutler omg big same. i might schedule a Beejlander session with friends when were all vaccinated
electra310: I'm glad he alerted James first
djalternative: auction off the opportunity to 'experience beej' from the privacy of your own home
TheMerricat: That was nice of him. I like this guy.
electra310: My mental image is him alerting James by yelling YEET just before throwing the book
electra310: He knows chutzpah, why not?
TheMerricat: Do we still have a 'library' chest or did we reloot it?
PixelArtDragon: @electra310 Games made nowadays should incorporate more modern slang
electra310: (Admittedly, my mental image may be affected by the fact that I share a home with an eleven year old)
KeytarCat: we ask why there's Yiddish in Midkemia, but not why there's English! This is why slang in fantasy worlds is important to develop!
TheMerricat: I mean they made up an entire music system in this game just for the conversation between the bard tutor and James, they could have made up their own slang.
JadedCynic: True, we have Owyn, and Locklear, and Gorath....and Prince Arutha....and JAMES
MaladyDark: next task in life, win multi millions, fly LRR to AUS for a lovely working holiday. lots of filming time. lots of sunscreen. have them do the whole 3 month circumfrence loop
PixelArtDragon: @keytarcat Oh it gets better, the way they "translate" Mordhel whenever Gorath speaks it is hilarious
electra310: On the other hand, chutzpah is an excellent word without a great direct translation in English
Arclight_Dynamo: Wait, James has the heavy crossbow?
DoodlestheGreat: Hewwo, folks. Have we been busily betraying?
MaladyDark: wait... so we can annoy you that easily!
Manae: Sneaky challenge to chat: You won't go making my watch beep!
KeytarCat: OK is from old Boston slang, so any time it shows up in a fantasy setting, it's the equivalent of some weird assent phrase, and I like to think about what that would be!
JadedCynic: @Manae reverse psychology...nah, not quite
KeytarCat: If anyone knows the real world examples, I'd love to hear them and their etymologies
TheMerricat: @DoodlestheGreat we've entered chapter 3, but vefore that we went into town, found out the town watch was killed off in a riot, the walked into the inn in town and found an entire troop of slain kingsmen(soldiers). Now we are playing message boys for the Duke trying to solve the guild fights
MaladyDark: ah yes. the wonderful truth that all words come from somewhere
KeytarCat: I'm a high linguist, fantasy etymology is WONDERFUL right now
Hare__Krishna: I'm studying Sanskrit right now
Hare__Krishna: that's tons of fun
Hare__Krishna: tons of connections with modern languages
johnalogue: I've returned and now everyone is smaller
Manae: Perhaps that's why you see OK typed out as "okay" so often? Even if OK is the original way, it's become ubiquitous in English an OK just seems like a *wrong* thing, but for that same reason it's fine for "okay" to show up in fantasy writing
RealGamerCow: enfoeffed?
juneblue58: @RealGamerCow Having a fiefdom.
MaladyDark: oooh yeah sanskrit is a ... lot lower ... on the branching tree of languages
Manae: I'm not sure anything I just typed makes sense. I should go to bed
electra310: Bump bunnies?
KeytarCat: Sanskrit is really cool, but I've never worked with it. I'm studying sociolinguistics, mostly, learning French and Japanese for that
johnalogue: bump bunnies sounds like a euphemism
Hare__Krishna: and a dirty one, at that
Arclight_Dynamo: The music here gets slowly more and more disjointed, and it weirds me out.
electra310: Yeah, I guess that's one way to get people into your inn
DarkMorford: A very dirty one
KeytarCat: @Manae Squeeeee SirUwU

TheMerricat: So one thing that I find interesting about this game it that they accurately show that inns and taverns weren't the same thing and that most of the time an inn just had a common room where everyone slept instead of being like a modern hotel with rooms to rent out
Hare__Krishna: and a tavern is just a bar?
ritchards: Now, do we get treated to a secret podcast?
PixelArtDragon: You still have a considerable amount of the story of the chapter left
electra310: Secret podcast, through the mountains...
TheMerricat: and switching to mobile for the remainder of the stream now that I'm full of tacos :)
Juliamon: tacoooos
djalternative: being full of tacos is an optimal state to be in
PixelArtDragon: And I am now freshly caffeinated
Juliamon: damn I could go for some fish tacos right about now
hexy_lexy: but its fine, i have rice cooking
ritchards: I recently had cheese and crackers, so I'm good
ContingentCat: dangit chat, I just ate now I'm hungry again
johnalogue: haha I'm having spicy nuggets and a chicken sandwich take that tacos
PixelArtDragon: It's so weird how most of the chat is having dinner right now, meanwhile I'm having breakfast
Juliamon: wish my sister didn't get to decide Saturday dinner, we had thai instead
hexy_lexy: @ContingentCat i fail to see the problem. this just means more food which is nice
johnalogue: @pixelartdragon Well, I just woke up so it's technically both
MaladyDark: my lunch is just about ready
hexy_lexy: @PixelArtDragon breakfast for dinner is always an option :p
HundreydAundre: Unrelated, is it wrong to want to draw more curled spike scalps?
hexy_lexy: to be fair, its a bit after midnight for me
PixelArtDragon: @hexy_lexy What about dinner for breakfast?
MaladyDark: got a little meat pie. beef steak with pepper gravy
Juliamon: not that there's anything wrong with Thai, but it's like one of three main types of food you can get around here (the other two being Greek pizza and fast food burgers)
hexy_lexy: @PixelArtDragon thats fairly common. pizza for breakfast is a thing
JadedCynic: @PixelArtDragon steak n' eggs, cold pizza, it's all good
Juliamon: so we tend to get it a lot
Hare__Krishna: I had some excellent Indian food from the Hare Krishna temple two doors down (i'm a monk here)
Juliamon: neat!
MaladyDark: mmm I've never had the chance to try temple food. my cousin loves it when she goes though
Hare__Krishna: depends on the temple, but we're pretty famous for our food
ContingentCat: @Juliamon how is greek pizza different from other pizza?
MaladyDark: she lives in the City with a temple, she'll go eat, wash dishes n stuff
Hare__Krishna: which city?
MaladyDark: ah. Brisbane
MaladyDark: Australia
Juliamon: ContingentCat Thicker crust, solid blanket of cheese
MaladyDark: not too many temples in Australia
ContingentCat: @Juliamon ooo sounds good
PixelArtDragon: It's okay, the bodies will despawn sooner or later
JadedCynic: funnily enough I found a bowl of cold chili during the break - knowing this chat, I KNEW y'all would be talking food, and I was RIGHT B)
Juliamon: I prefer a more 'traditional' thin crust myself
Juliamon: so it kinda sucks here for me
Hare__Krishna: the Australian temples are famous for their food. the Hare Krishna movement there really focused on food distribution as a big thing in Aust.
Hare__Krishna: lots of catering too
MaladyDark: it's the easiest way into a bigots heart. Via the stomach I mean. I love my Country but I know what we are
Juliamon: Any pizza place that calls itself "House of Pizza" is likely to be Greek, to differentiate from an Italian "Pizzeria"
thraximore: @LoadingReadyRun didn't hit owyn's crafting
Hare__Krishna: when our founder visited Australia for the first time, he told the devotees to distribute tons of food.
RealGamerCow: Greek pizza also is usually cooked in olive oil, so the crust is very greasy
Hare__Krishna: lol
RealGamerCow: like, the olive oil is on th bottom
Juliamon: Greasy and spongy
johnalogue: oily pizza sounds decadent
Drakas subscribed at Tier 1. They've subscribed for 60 months!

RealGamerCow: Yeah. I'm lucky enough that I live near a place that does pizza with the crust that is super thin and crispy, almost like a cracker
johnalogue: or whatever the word for "delicious but slowly dying by eating it"
RealGamerCow: But most places around here are "house of pizza"
Drakas: @johnalogue dominos pizza
Juliamon: Greek immigrants apparently have a pizza stranglehold on the northeastern US
RealGamerCow: But they do sometimes have baklava, so that's a bonus
johnalogue: @drakas I said "delicious" and "slowly"
djalternative: I'm so glad I get to eat chicago pizza
johnalogue: sometimes I forget the east coast
Drakas: @johnalogue domino's pizza in australia is good
DarkMorford: Ah, there's the chapter start you've mentioned before. "Noun verbed" -> "James babbled" ;)
JadedCynic: Tom Swifties
johnalogue: @drakas ah. I think the fast food pizzas in the US wouldn't bother with olive oil
JadedCynic: @Drakas same here in the back 'o beyond
Juliamon: I've found that I actually prefer Domino's pan pizza better than Greek pizza, which upsets me because I don't *want* to praise Domino's for anything
KeytarCat: Haka's power!
PixelArtDragon: I don't think you need to keep the seal anymore
Drakas: dominos is basically the go to takeaway pizza for me
JadedCynic: heck, given what we've seen in this world, a convicted thief crucified along the road wouldn't surprise me :D
electra310: Domino's spinach and feta stuffed bread is really pretty good. Pizza is meh, but cheap!
JadedCynic: Yeah, it's in the rotation
plummeting_sloth: We can do it the easy way, the hard way, the Max Powers Way, or the Silben Way
JadedCynic: must be supply issues in different regions - poor quality ingredients...
JadedCynic: that I sell on occasion...
PixelArtDragon: We're stealing cocaine?
ritchards: A bag of *powder*? *sniiiiffff*
SK__Ren: The... magic amnesia house?
DarkMorford: I miss Pizza Hut, as odd as that is to say. The only one within delivery range of me closed even before the pandemic, so I mostly get Papa John's lately.
thraximore: "I'll be back."
johnalogue: all RPG protagonists have thief's instinct
KeytarCat: "You aren't my manager!"
plummeting_sloth: "Don't leave this place" "I... own this place?"
ritchards: well, that was easy!
eDRoaCH: sniff it
johnalogue: an RPG is just a looting simulator
plummeting_sloth: wait, could we have given him the powder bag we already had?
JadedCynic: now to be fair, there are three local places (one that does pizza Napoletana <3 ) then Dominos and then Little Caesar's
PixelArtDragon: So he just wanted some pocket sand?
Drakas: the thing with pizza hut australia and dominos is domino's has a better range of toppings
JadedCynic: there's other places but...that's our faves in rota
Drakas: pizza huts menu has not chaged scince the 90's
johnalogue: @pixelartdragon maybe it was pocket sand with sentimental value
plummeting_sloth: Iwouldn't have thought anyone so wily to defeat The Crawler "I... uh... just walked outside a clicked a door?"
JadedCynic: Well Pizza Hut has changed *here* - it died out. LUL
hexy_lexy: Abuk?! time to go to the library! :p
plummeting_sloth: Mitchel and Abuk is my favorite comedy double act
Juliamon: Where can we find sailors??
johnalogue: if he had no need of gold why couldn't he simply purchase pocket sand?
PixelArtDragon: Oh no, are we going to Krondor? I thought once was enough!
JadedCynic: franchising apparently has been on the decline
thraximore: The Upright Man is dead?
JadedCynic: wait what?
JadedCynic: 'did in the Upright Man'?
hexy_lexy: back to Krondor? time for another betrayal... wait The Upright Man is dead?!?!?!
plummeting_sloth: The Upright man is no longer upright
DarkMorford: Whoo, side quests!
mrverbal: sideways man
Arclight_Dynamo: Huzzah!
Mystaira: He is now the downleft man.
PixelArtDragon: So now instead of avoiding Krondor, we're going to Krondor to get sidetracked
gkingrat: 2 Betrayal 2 Krondor
JadedCynic: yeah, the mysterious leader of the biggest thieves' guild has been *successfully* assassinated :D
hexy_lexy: @Mystaira boo!!! (i love it)
Hare__Krishna: i remember when i found out you could do chapter 1 by travelling clockwise around the forest, towards krondor, rather than counter clockwise
Hare__Krishna: it's harder, but you get better items and conversations are different
Mystaira: @Mystaira nkoHehe
JadedCynic: I wager UM faked his death to shake off further attacks and get a chance to investigate WHO is trying to kill him...
JadedCynic: but I tend to be genre savvy, so sometimes I overthink things
Arclight_Dynamo: "So, what did you do in Krondor tonight, Beej?" "Well, I attended a lecture."
DarkMorford: When we start the funeral pyre, he'll be Burning Man! Kappa
JadedCynic: "where'd you get that spyglass" "I got it from Abuk" Kappa
plummeting_sloth: I'm just glad Abuk is working on there hard to make the Sleeveless Leather Vest look work
johnalogue: @jadedcynic you can't use an acronym and then use all caps on another small word for emphasis
jamesk902: !uptime
LRRbot: The stream has been live for 1:48:23.
electra310: Box of many things!
Arclight_Dynamo: Ah-ha! The Prank's Stone box!
JadedCynic: Abuk found the infamous "Found" box of the 'Lost & Found' ! :D
plummeting_sloth: uuh
CaptainSpam: The thorn in our side!
Juliamon: welp
johnalogue: oh dear
JadedCynic: oh, you mean the one we've, NEVERMIND
plummeting_sloth: not only have we been cleaning that out, we've been putting things in it
Juliamon: We stashed some socks in there!
JadedCynic: welp
thraximore: Hm.
Hare__Krishna: that's where socks disappear to in the drier
Arclight_Dynamo: Well. So. Uh... which note was in there?
JadedCynic: @Hare__Krishna and, unfortunately, now OUR socks will appear in someone else's drier...
Arclight_Dynamo: So, to Cavall's Keep?
Hare__Krishna: yeah, the sequel to this was about retrieving the socks
PixelArtDragon: Yeah, we got him all that armor so we could avoid paying 25 sovereigns!
JadedCynic: See I thought "Return To Krondor" mean US going back, when in fact we were supposed to take these weird elven slippers back - return them to Krondor :D
PixelArtDragon: Is Lysle still in Lyton?
hexy_lexy: ok, chat, im feeling tired so ima try to get some sleep. take care of yourselves, and reminder that i value you all
DarkMorford: G'night lexy!
CaptainSpam: "I believe we shall not take you up on your... generous offer of room and board, innkeeper," James said as the party proceeded to exit the tavern and sleep on the road directly in front of it.
juneblue58: Sleep tight, Lexy!
CaptainSpam: 'Niters, Lexy!
KeytarCat: Night, Lexy!
JadedCynic: gnite lexy! ,/
CaptainSpam: Yikes.
LRRTwitter: @loadingreadyrun> Time for a little break with some stream highlights! | ||
PixelArtDragon: Yay particle effects!
Juliamon: Late-nite Highlights
JadedCynic: oh wait...these guys...
DarkMorford: Ooh, highlights
Hare__Krishna: fetters of rime is great here
JadedCynic: you've been hit by-
CaptainSpam: "lol NOPE"
Mystaira: That guy sure noped out.
PixelArtDragon: Wow, that guy is zoomy!
JadedCynic: you've been struck by-
gkingrat: "My planet needs me"
JadedCynic: -wait, where're you going?
chaostreader: Drink some healing stuff and put a healing pack on him?
Juliamon: James, bleeding out: "Don't worry about me, get that loot polished"
PixelArtDragon: Most importantly, he is no longer "near death"
Hare__Krishna: red rum
MaladyDark: secret murder!
thraximore: I wonder if that's referring to the Upright Man
DeM0nFiRe: "What question would you ask?" "Murder" "That's not a question" "Murder?" *sigh*
MaladyDark: secret Murder!
JadedCynic: thank you for confirming our suspicions, oracle
edgiestick: there were two murdles
MaladyDark: through the mountains, Secret, secret, secret, SEEEEECREEEET MURDER!
KeytarCat: One murder of crows
JadedCynic: I'm mending from near-mortal wounds; not the best time for use to introduce infectious bugs to our immune systems :p
Hare__Krishna: it's the of someone who refuses to ever wear a mask during covid. they've been ostracized
Hare__Krishna: (the house of)
JadedCynic: the ribbon wasn't self-placed, more like a branding by the rest of the town
JadedCynic: well, we know where the Keshian link comes from...then just the source of the funds to purchase it for the nighthawk
djalternative: 5 hours?!
JadedCynic: I've been in lectures that felt like they lasted even longer :(
JadedCynic: but yeah 5h, I'd expect a couple of breaks...
PMAvers: So... definitely a college down.
electra310: First description of ulcer was in 1670
Juliamon: It's almost like the concept of "noble blood" is deeply flawed!
JadedCynic: probably known of something happening in the stomach, if not what was actually happening...
PixelArtDragon: Ulcers may have been known of for longer but given other names
chaostreader: I think you can’t challenge him because you don’t have an emerald?
JadedCynic: O_o
RangerAlpha7: i think it's like 40 or something
PixelArtDragon: Gorath is a witch now
JadedCynic: I mean, it makes sense that a Mordhel noble and a knight would be good at that, and owyn is def catching up...
edgiestick: "They can only run full out for 3 minutes" "Geez Gorath, you barely glanced at them"
JadedCynic: @PixelArtDragon Gorath is Sherlock Holmes B)
JadedCynic: "by the way that you slouch to your right side, I can tell that you've previous been maimed by some wound in the past; your ever-present frown shows that it was never treated properly by a healer or a Abbey. and based on how you wear your sword in its scabbard..."
PixelArtDragon: The game must now concede
JadedCynic: "Gorath, why are you yelling to that man down the road there - he's surely out of earshot..."
JadedCynic: careful - I wouldn't put it past DOSBox to just crash at this point! @PixelArtDragon :D
DarkMorford: lrrCREEPL lrrCREEPR
JadedCynic: huh, Lysle looks a little like PM JT :D
JadedCynic: minus the quarantine beard natch ;)
PixelArtDragon: Damn, I was hoping he'd have new Chapter 3 dialogue
edgiestick: lay low lyle before anyone thinks you're James and comes after you
JadedCynic: but then, with these resolutions, and the rotoscoping, *I* look a little like the Keshian innkeep in that one town :D
dkosa: lrrHAM
eDRoaCH: twice
Hare__Krishna: ok, i'm out. goodnight!
PixelArtDragon: Good night @hare__krishna !
JadedCynic: for once, nothing of interest happened on the journey - they'd passed this way before, so the scenery was boringly familiar...and they'd also dealt with whatever miscreants hat might b a harassment it was boring
JadedCynic: gnite HK!
Vector_Zero: Running on 160p to save mobile data - and genuinely can’t tell the difference in game.
RangerAlpha7: Yeah i was trying to remember if it was 640 or not :)
PixelArtDragon: Is that project open-source? I'd like to peruse the codebase for the game, even if it's a reimplementation.
Vector_Zero: “Ripples”
Vector_Zero: Or rather, “ripples”
Vector_Zero: Bad keming
RangerAlpha7: So expensive in fact that you can make infinite money off of it LUL .
djalternative: normal or JOLT™?
Xenguin47: Howdy Beej Chat! Er... Cheej? Hmm.. probably not.
Juliamon: That's the most blatantly coded message I've ever seen
Arclight_Dynamo: "It's all fucked, boys."
PixelArtDragon: Ooh, foreshadowing
MaladyDark: I aksed the husband. he think's tea at mothers refers to going to visit the guild
Krelera88: It's a Mocker's password. "Mother's" refers to the Mocker's hideout
MaladyDark: but it's been few years since he's read through too
PixelArtDragon: I had no idea a temple opens up at Krondor at some point. It's so wild that I can have beaten the game twice and still be amazed by it
Vector_Zero: Phrasing?

PixelArtDragon: Fun fact, Limm has special dialogue in Chapter 2 that gives you a Glazer's Seal after you've talked to Lysle
PixelArtDragon: Oh wait, this IS the dialogue
PMAvers: "A shiner? I've got one of those. *punch*"
PixelArtDragon: Wait. What? I would like to see which key he gives you
chaostreader: I think he gave you a Virtue Key according to the walk through.
PixelArtDragon: Okay, a virtue key would make sense, but there are a few unique keys that are required for some locks and it would be interesting if there was an alternate way of acquiring some of them
LunarJade: [Beej]
Arclight_Dynamo: [Not Beej]
TheMerricat: yeah we got really quiet :)
KeytarCat: Oh, hello, "beej"
PixelArtDragon: [PixelArtDragon]
chaostreader: [Also Not Beej]
djalternative: [Possibly Beej]
KeytarCat: [PixelArtDragon]
Juliamon: We could just ramble about pizza again
PixelArtDragon: [KeytarCat]
chaostreader: Red Leader, Standing by.
Xenguin47: Red October, being hunted.
blip2004: the network here doesn't like chat and keeps disconnecting it
TheMerricat: our next new party member is going to be so far behind the og team... :D
KeytarCat: I have Little Caesar's. I've come to appreciate them, as a recently unemployed student
KeytarCat: well, not recent now...
KeytarCat: I can't remember where the House of Lethe is
Juliamon: I would order pizza tomorrow if I didn't have so many leftovers waiting to be eaten.
Vector_Zero: House of 83% lethal?
KeytarCat: HAH
KeytarCat: It may have actually been me last time, too LUL
Fanklok: I remember the little Caesar's thing
PixelArtDragon: Good thing we have super stealth powers!
thraximore: I was told Dejá Vu is just a Little Seizures
Vector_Zero: Very nice
djalternative: chat, what's the time you felt most refreshed from an icecream or a glass of something?
Arclight_Dynamo: Deja vu, as I understand it, is just you *believing* you had done a thing before, not that it actually happened before.
KeytarCat: @thraximore Holy BOP , that was good!
Arclight_Dynamo: So it can be weirdly specific.
thraximore: I saw it and had to take it.
Arclight_Dynamo: I can't get over how tiny James is on the combat screen.
Xenguin47: Deja vu was explained to me as you indeed experiencing something for a second time: a few seconds after the first. It's a duplication error in the brain where the same thing gets filed into short term memory twice in rapid succession, basically?
Vector_Zero: He’s not a big dude, canonically, IIRC
KeytarCat: I've heard its a product of delay between processing consciously and storing to memory. If the memory is saved before you process it, you use the event itself as a template to relate to it.
thraximore: Interesting theory
KeytarCat: @Xenguin47 I like this one. much simpler
Vector_Zero: @xenguin47 that makes sense. Pretty sure my mental filing slips up from time to time
PixelArtDragon: @Xenguin47 The weird thing about deja vu is I could almost swear I'd actually had a dream about it at some point beforehand
Juliamon: Meat memory storage: it not perfect system
KeytarCat: LUL
Arclight_Dynamo: We just witnessed a meat-based hard drive crash inside Beej's head.
KeytarCat: @Arclight_Dynamo A memory address error LUL
KeytarCat: Oh, but in this case, I think I actually did talk about Little Caesar's and post three times in a row on this series previously
Xenguin47: Oh, I've definitely had deja vu and would swear that I'd experienced the actual event before, even if only in a dream.
ritchards: lrrIAN
Arclight_Dynamo: Also... no?
KeytarCat: I AM!
TheMerricat: has a lot of "informed guesses" but given it's not something folk can produce on demand or reliably, no one has really been able to actually study deja Vu yet
KeytarCat: But I also say Horner
TheMerricat: we have doctor this guy before I know this isn't deja vu
Xenguin47: I feel like you can't say "Horner!" without shaking your fist at the sky.
TheMerricat: she was the lady who gave us either a note or a torch and she had a black eye and didn't want to talk about it
KeytarCat: @TheMerricat Thanks, I forgot to make it clear that I don't know anything definitely
Xenguin47: @KeytarCat Uh oh.. don't start that... because nobody knows anything definitely. :P
KeytarCat: @Xenguin47 nooooooooooooooooooooo
Arclight_Dynamo: So what happens when our staff is out of juice?
PixelArtDragon: Dividing damage can be worthwhile since low-health enemies have lowered stats and are basically out of commission
TheMerricat: @arclight_dynamo they sell more in stores
Arclight_Dynamo: @TheMerricat Ah, that was more what I was asking - I thought it was a one-off item.
TheMerricat: we got one for free and I can't remember if this is it or if we've already gone through that one and the one we got for free had fewer charges and the ones that are sold in stores
TheMerricat: and you can definitely tell I'm on my phone now instead of at my keyboard
Xenguin47: So, wait, we've been repairing all this stuff and leaving it behind... are we causing some sort of urban legend to spring up in our wake of people with perfect swords and armor just being found dead in the woods cut to pieces, but nary a nick to their equipment? Like, they've been fighting ghosts or something?
KeytarCat: Captain of the LRS (LoadingReadyShip) Wiki Trauler @TheMerricat
Xenguin47: That's what Beej said...
TheMerricat: :D
Fanklok: also the wizard cannot use the staff
PixelArtDragon: His staff is huge? Vaguely erotic
KeytarCat: I just said Gorath in the cadence of Borat...
gkingrat: If I remember correctly in chapter four you meet... his wife.
KeytarCat: LUL
Arclight_Dynamo: So does the poison spider have charges or is it just... infinitely usable?
TheMerricat: infinite
Arclight_Dynamo: Noice.
Mollylele: What happens when you max out all the boys?
TheMerricat: then we finally go to chapter 5 :p
chaostreader: @mollylele Our opponents must concede.
thraximore: and their blood type
Xenguin47: Blood Type: Spilled+
Arclight_Dynamo: Think of scouting as passive perception.
MaladyDark: it's been a bit
Xenguin47: It's cool. Sometimes it's just a chill night.
ritchards: Hey, if you are done, then you are done.
Arclight_Dynamo: Yeah, no worries! This was fun. Have a good night. :)
